If you enjoy your daily cup of coffee like me but from time to time switch it up or want to switch it but you’re not sure what drink can get you that energy to boost your immune system and keep you going all day long. You will enjoy the breakfast energy smoothie which can replace your breakfast when in a rush.
After a weekend of eating and drinking, I like to start my week with a Detox Green Smoothie and make the breakfast energy smoothie to keep me going during the rest of the week.
How to make the breakfast energy smoothie
Best blender for making smoothies: I personally prefer the ones with the single serve, it’s easier to clean, less hassle and I can make the right amount just for me.
Protein to keep you full: if you’re in a rush or just not in the mood to make breakfast, adding your favorite protein powder will help keep you full till lunch time.
Frozen fruits: it’s best to use frozen fruits instead of ice cubes in your smoothie. I prefer the frozen ones, the mixed berries like blueberries, raspberries and blackberries for energy. Am always in a rush in the morning and the chopped frozen ones makes my life easier.
Fill your blender: From softest to hardest; add the orange juice, vanilla extract, and yogurt. Then, add the fresh or frozen fruit.
Leftover smoothie: you can save your left over smoothie in the fridge for up to 5 days, just add a little extra yogurt to thicken it up again.
- 2 cups orange juice
- 1 cup vanilla yogurt (or the flavor of your choice)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups mixed fresh or frozen berries
Remember to add your ingredients softest to hardest, blend on high for 2 minutes or until smooth. Scrap he sides and blend for 30 seconds more.
